Welcome to the homepage of the First Latin American Congress of Medicinal Chemistry (LACMeC), an international scientific congress created and promoted by the Latin American Association of Medicinal Chemistry (ALAQMed). This initiative represents a historic milestone for the consolidation and advancement of Medicinal Chemistry across Latin America.

The congress was conceived with the mission of strengthening scientific integration throughout the continent, bringing together researchers, students, pharmaceutical industry professionals, and specialists from diverse fields involved in the discovery and development of new medicines.

Medicinal Chemistry plays a central role in health innovation, connecting disciplines such as organic chemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, molecular modeling, and artificial intelligence in the common goal of transforming molecules into therapies capable of addressing diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. In this context, the creation of LACMeC represents an unprecedented and highly significant initiative, establishing for the first time a Latin American forum dedicated specifically to Medicinal Chemistry, designed to highlight regional scientific contributions and promote collaboration among research groups across the continent.
