The first edition of LACMeC, which will take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro from December 9 to 11, 2026, has been carefully planned to occur jointly with the International Symposium on Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry (ISPMeC), an established international event that brings together leading scientists from around the world. The integration of these two meetings creates a unique opportunity to foster dialogue between the Latin American scientific community and international researchers, expanding the exchange of ideas, strengthening collaborative networks, and promoting new scientific partnerships.

The innovative nature of this proposal  bringing together for the first time a Latin American congress dedicated to Medicinal Chemistry with an international symposium in the field represents an important step toward increasing the visibility of the science produced in our continent and strengthening Latin America’s presence in the global landscape of drug discovery.

By gathering experts from different countries, generations, and areas of expertise, LACMeC aims to stimulate the development of a scientific community that is increasingly connected, collaborative, and capable of addressing the scientific and health challenges of our time.
