On the 16th and 17th, we held a lecture and a workshop in a hybrid format Dr. David Heppner of the university at Buffalo, enabling participation from across Latin America.
The event was designed as a space for learning, exchanging experiences, and fostering scientific collaborations in the field of Medicinal Chemistry.

Drug Discovery and Development from Academia
From July 31 to August 7, 2026, the course “Drug Discovery and Development from Academia” was held at the Mario A. Cassinoni Experimental Station in Paysandú, Uruguay, as part of the PEDECIBA Chemistry program.
The course provided a theoretical and practical experience focused on the key stages involved in the discovery and development of new medicines within the academic environment, covering topics related to medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, molecular design, and preclinical development.
A valuable initiative for the training of students and researchers and for strengthening drug discovery research across Latin America. 🌎🔬
